Sad to see this.

Why do I want to hurt myself? Do you think about hurting yourself? Have you ever done so? People who think about hurting themselves may not want to die, but are looking for a way to cope. This may be you. Some common experiences of people who want to, or do, hurt themselves are: Being abused or bullied (emotionally, physically, and/or sexually) Being unable to show feelings such as sadness and anger when growing up Family violence Feeling like no one cares or understands Loss and grief (including suicide of someone close to you) Major relationship stresses, including breaking up Mental illness, including depression Hurting yourself can feel like it helps to relieve the pressure, stops overwhelming thoughts, reduces or expresses your emotional pain — or it can be a way to punish yourself. There are a number of ways people may hurt themselves, including: scratching the skin, hitting, cutting, burning and taking small quantities of prescribed or over-the-counter medications. This may provide temporary relief, but after a while of doing this you may find that you need to hurt yourself more and more to get the same relief. This can become life-threatening. If you’re reading this website, though, it is likely that you’re not 100% sure whether hurting yourself is the only way to cope. There are other ways to cope, ways that can be both safer and more sustaining (see Helping yourself). Talking to someone about how you’re feeling is might be the next step. Talking About It
